Vice Champion David (Motopark) seals great campaign with a sixth win in another close battle at Monza

A great, exciting season of the Euroformula, the first with the new Tom’s-powered Dallara 324, came to a closure with  third sensational race on the Temple of Speed, and five cars fighting side by side under the flag.

With the title won by Tymek Kucharczyk and BVM Racing yesterday, Race 3 was for glory and fun, and that we had. Overall Vice Champion and Rookie Trophy winner Yevan David (Motopark) wrapped up his excellent campaign with a sixth win, equaling the toll of Kucharczyk (today seventh after a penalty for a contact), beating his teammates Everett Stak and Michael Shin.

Positive as always, the personable Sri Lankan commented: “It’s a great way to end the championship, despite the final result wasn’t the desired one. Still, I am very happy about a race perfectly executed today and about this season, which has really helped me to develop as a driver. A massive thanks to Motopark, it has been a pleasure to work with them and to drive this car.”

Kucharczyk, on his side, will now focus on his participation to the Macau Grand Prix, the iconic race reuniting the Gotha of F.3.

THE RACE- Famularo and Garfias sit on first row for the last race, with the Mexican taking the advantage at the start, ahead of Kucharczyk who has an excellent kick-off from row 3 but touches Shin at the exit of the first chicane. The new champion gets a 5-second penalty while the Korean drops to the back after running on the gravel.

Garfias and Kucharczyk will fight fiercely for the lead, passing each other almost at every lap, with David in third ahead of Stack, de la Torre and Shin. In lap 13, Kucharczyk does a little off-track at Lesmo and is passed by David, Stack and Shin.

The last laps are a big battle between the first five, with again a final sprint side-by-side from Parabolica to the flag. David crosses the line ahead of Stack, Kucharczyk (who finishes seventh taking into account the penalty), Shin and Garfias, who has been gently pushed to the outside line in the Parabolica.
