Rui-heng Yeh (Motopark) secures the title with assertive win in Race 3

Rui-heng Yeh is the 2026 Euroformula Champion. The Taipei of Team Motopark driver sentenced the title battle one round before the end with an authoritative win in another very fiercely-fought Race 3 at Monza. Even freshly-crowned the, “Enzo”, as he is nicknamed, remained  composed and sparing of words: “I am very happy of this success, of course. We came to fight for the title and we achieved it. Thanks to Motopark for the good work and to all who supported me. It’s more special to get the title here at Monza, a legendary track where racing is always exciting”.

That last remark sounds like an understatement when looking at Race 3, even more exciting than yesterday’s races. Herrera and Famularo were in first row in the inverted grid, with the Mexican taking the lead, while the Venezuelan has to let Maccagnani past and then slides further down in the order. Koolen has stalled.

The first phase of the race see Herrera, Maccagnani, De la Torre and Yeh fighting fiercely, with the positions changing frequently. The first notable event come in lap 6 when Maccagnani is victim of a contact at the second chicane which destroys one his car’s wheels and ends his race. Herrera seems to have things relatively under control, with Yeh, Carrasquedo and De la Torre being his main rivals for a some laps.

In reality, the entire race is a big fight: in lap 10, the entire remaining field (ten cars) is covered by only 1.3 seconds! The second determining fact occurs in lap 12 when the Mexican duel for third between  Herrera and De la Torre ends with contact at the entrance of Ascari. De la Torre spins and remains stranded in the gravel, Herrera will receive a 10-seconds penalty. After restart, Yeh is in mode attack and eventually passes Carrasquedo to take the win, with Dobrzanski crossing the line in third after a solid survival race. The Pole is now only two points away from Herrera in the Rookies’ trophy.
