The new Dallara 324 cars powered by Tom’s officially started their Euroformula Open racing career today, with the two free practice sessions in Portimão that kicked off the 2025 season, in a sunny but windy day at the Autódromo do Algarve.
Young Polish promise Tymek Kucharczyk dominated the day, topping both session. In the first one, he posted a time 1.38.250, bringing it down to 1.38.096 in the afternoon. The BVM Racing driver beat by only 0s003 US racer Shawn David of debuting Nielsen Racing.
Yevan David (Motopark) was third-fastest, 0s287 behind, and Ed Pearson (Nielsen Racing) fourth (+0s278). These two drivers set their best time in the morning session.
BVM confirmed its good day thanks to Vladislav Ryabov (+0s368), while Michael Shin (Motopark) was sixth-fastest (+0s528).
Followed the Motopark trio formed by Joss Garfias, Fefo Barrichello and Diego de la Torre, ahead of Nielsen’s Finn Green, Everett Stack (Motopark) who could only do 13 laps due to mechanical issues, and Paolo Brajnik (NV Racing).
“I am very excited to join the Euroformula Open and drive the Dallara 324, which I find a great car from first impression. I can’t wait to be fighting at the top. There is still work to do but I look forward to it”, said Kucharczyk.
