Known and new faces at first test day in Barcelona

It is still early to say who the top runners in the Euroformula Open will be this year, but there was a great display of fresh talent today at Circuit de Barcelona Catalunya, in the first day of the non-mandatory test session organized by GT Sport.

Sunny but not too warm weather offered perfect conditions to test and work to the three teams having used this opportunity: Motopark, BVM Racing and Neri Autosport.

At Motopark, the six drivers announced for the season (confirmed Everett Stack and Diego de la Torre, and new recruits Enzo Yeh, Jan Koller, Wiktor Dobrzanski and Lorenzo Castillo) were joined in this test by Thai racer Nandhavud Bhirombhakdi. In the BVM camp, Indian Divy Nandan was a late addition to the already signed Javier Herrera and Alessandro Famularo.

Meanwhile, debuting squad Neri Autosport, having just taken delivery of their Dallara 324, spent the day finishing to prepare the car, with Aaron Ferrazzano just doing a few installation laps.

In terms of lap times, experience paid: Diego de la Torre topped two of the four session, posting the best time of the day (1.31.865) ahead of Stack (1.31.986), and Yeh (1.32.070), who also has some EFO experience already and topped session one. Bhirombhakdi was fourth-fastest (1.32.275) ahead of the top BVM driver, Famularo (1.32.313, best time in session 3) and Dobrzanski (1.32.476)
