Jesse Carrasquedo took his maiden Euroformula Open pole in a warm morning at the Circuit Paul Ricard, which ended with three Mexican drivers in the top three.
Carrasquedo stopped the clock in 1.53.541. The Motopark driver, currently lying fourth in the overall standings, was clearly satisfied with his performance: “It’s a track I love and where I took pole already last year in the Eurocup 3, it’s warm weather, which as a Mexican I am used to, so everything is good. It’s nice to achieve a pole after a couple of frustrating rounds. Now we need to materialize the advantage in Race 1.”
Javier Herrera (BVM Racing) was second-fastest, beaten by only 0s154, and will start from row one, while in row 2 will be Motopark’s Diego de la Torre (+0s408) and Rui-heng Yeh (+0s499). In row three, Alceu Feldmann (BVM, +0s531) and Everett Stack (Motopark, +0s619), who led the first part of the session.
To be noted the fact that, in a strategic move, the three Drivex drivers used only one set of new tyres.
