Ten former Euroformula Open drivers in action at Monaco GP and Indy 500 this weekend

Two of the world’s greatest races, and the high points in the Formula 1 and Indycar championships, will take place next weekend: the Monaco GP and the Indy 500.

The Euroformula Open will be well represented in both as no less than 10 former EFO drivers will be on the grid of the two races.

Four will take part in the 82nd edition of the Monaco GP: Carlos Sainz, Yuki Tsunoda, Liam Lawson and Franco Colapinto, who has recently taken over at Alpine from another former EFO driver, Jack Doohan.

Six have qualified for the 109th running of the Indy 500: three-time Indycar champion Álex Palou, Colton Herta, Louis Foster, Devlin DeFrancesco, Kirk Kylewood and Santino Ferrucci.

Out of the ten, six (Lawson, Tsunoda, Palou, Herta, Foster and DeFrancesco) were race winners in EFO.

At Monaco, there will be more former EFO drivers in action as the FIA F2 has six of them in its ranks (former champion Oliver Goethe, Jak Crawford, Joshua Dürksen, Rafael Villagómez, Cian Shields and Roman Staněk) and the FIA F3 has seven (2024 champion Brad Benavides, 2023 champion Noel León, Nicola Marinangeli, Josh Dufek, Gerrard Xie, Charlie Wurz and Tim Tramnitz).
