David (Motopark) takes race 3 and keeps standings lead

By winning Race 3 at the Hockenheimring, Yevan David kept up with the tradition of being victorious at every track visited so far by the euroformula Open this season. Moreover, with this fourth success of the season, the Sri Lankan of Motopark keeps the command in the overall standings, now with an 18-point advantage on a new closest rival, his teammate Michael Shin.

The Korean, after winning yesterday’s Race 1, collected his fifth P2 of the season. Third in an all-Motopark podium, was Joss Garfias, who won in the morning.

The race started with Stack and Pearson in first row, but David from row 2 took the lead in the first lap ahead of Stack, Shin, Pearson, Kucharczyk, Barrichello and Garfias, while Green and Pearson had contact in lap 2 with the latter being forced to pits to change the nose of its car.

In lap 9 some drops of rain started to fall and the safety car had to come in after de la Torre hit the wall. At the restart, with no much racing time left, the battle behind David was intense. Shin and Garfias secured the podium, with Barrichello fourth, Kucharczyk ending fifth a difficult weekend for him, and Stack sixth ahead of Pearson.
