Yevan David is spicing up the final battle for the title in Monza. The Sri Lankan of Team Motopark, third in the standings at the moment, took pole, his third of the season, in a chilly morning on the Italian track, stopping the clock in 1.41.842, and beating the other title contenders by half a second.
Yevan was clearly satisfied but keeping his feet on the ground: “I was able to put a good lap, it’s never a perfect lap, but quite a good one. Good work and perfect execution from everyone. The title battle? I’m taking races one by one and we will see.”
Exceptionally, there will be two races on Saturday here in Monza, with only Race 3 taking place on Sunday.
Championship leade Tymek Kucharczyk (BVM Racing), will share first row in Race 2, beaten by 0s594 in this morning qualifying, with the other title contender, Michael Shin (Motopark) third-fstest (+0s817).
Sharing row 2 will bee rookie Enzo Yeh (BVM Racing, +0s976). The Taiwanese proved fast throughout the session and put everything together to perform a very good lap.
In row 3 will be Joss Garfias (Motopark, 1s068) and Alessandro Famularo (BVM Racing, +1s212), with Fefo Barrichello (Motopark, +1s336) and Ed Pearson (Nielsen Motorsport, +1s397) in fourth.
