The Winter Test at the Circuit de Barcelona Catalunya prior to the kick-off of the 2025 season of the Euroformula Open ended with a third day of intense activity, this time not disturbed by the rain.
Yevan David (Motopark) and Ed Pearson (Nielsen Racing) were the heroes of the day, as lap times fell almost one full second with respect to the first two days.
David was fastest in the morning (session 7) with a time of 1.32.263, ahead of Michael Shin, José Garfias and Ed Pearson, who was fastest in the afternoon (session 8) posting a time of 1.32.390 despite a small technical issue leaving him stranded in the track, beating Diego Della Torre and David.
The morning mark of the Sri Lankan was to be the best time of the entire Winter Test but Ed Pearson came a very close second (+0s127) provig the great progress made by Nielsen Motorsport in its absolute debut with the new Dallara 324 powered by Tom’s. They were followed by Shin (+0s651), Garfías (+0s756) and Fernando Barrichello (+0s909).
Teams will now continue their preparation privately ahead of the season-opener at Portimão on 24-27 April.
