Castillo, more Mexican talent for Motopark

México will again be well represented in the 2026 Euroformula Open: this year too Team Motopark will have two drivers from the country of the royal eagle. Lorenzo Castillo has been officially announced by the German squad, alongside the reconfirmed Diego de la Torre.

Castillo, a 17-years-old from Oaxaca, joins from Eurocup 3 and Spanish F.4 after having raced in karting in his home country. He will make his EFO debut this year with the Tom’s-powered Dallara 324.

Lorenzo Castillo commented: “I’m proud to join Motopark for the Euroformula Open season. I know how professional they are and will give my best and work as hard as I can to get the best results”

Roland Rehfeld Team Manager, added: “¡Bienvenido, Lorenzo! Coming from Spanish Formula 4 in 2024 and Eurocup-3 in 2025, Lorenzo will start his third season in single-seaters. We are glad to boost up his progression to become a more complete race driver, reflecting our strength in developing young talents. Lorenzo fits well into our Euroformula campaign, with a larger amount of seat time in official races as well as in private testing, where we have already seen solid progression.”
