Monza welcomed the Euroformula Open with sunny, warm late-summer weather, with the two free practice sessions taking place in perfect conditions and with no hiccups.
Mexico’s Jesse Carrasquedo proved the fastest of the day. The Mexican of Motopark stopped the clock in 1.42.220 in the second session, beating by a small margin (0s142) his teammate and championship leader Rui-heng Yeh.
Another Mexican of Motopark, Diego de la Torre, was a very close third-fastest (+0s142) ahead of the best of the BVM racing drivers, Alessandro Famularo, also very close to the top (0s156), with a time that topped the rankings in session 1.
An excellent fifth (second in session 1) and top rookie was Aron Ferrazzano, the young Belgian of Neri Autosport (+0s398), who proved very competitive in his return after missing the Hockenheim round.
Javier Herrera (BVM Racing) was sixth ahead of teammate Nicolò Maccagnani (+0s453) in his EFO debut. Thid in FP1, the 16-year-old Italian could not improve in the afternoon, but preceded the other debuting driver, Dutchman Niels Koolen (Motopark, +1s088).
