Ed Pearson and Nielsen Racing took a resounding second win in the Euroformula Open in this morning’s Race 2 at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The British driver put in a performance in difficult conditions, on a drying track after the violent storms of the early morning.
“It’s been quite a while”, joked after the race the young Brit, whose other win was at the season-opening race in Portugal, “The team has been in an evolving curve in this first season in the series, it’s not always easy, but it’s great to be part of this exciting journey, working and growing as a team. Today, with British weather, I thought we had a good chance.”

Pearson was sitting in second row in the reversed grid, behind Alessandro Famularo (BVM) and teammate Theo Micouris, and alongside Fernando Barrichello (Motopark). The Brit and the Brazilian were quick in taking the lead in first lap, with Barrichello ahead of Pearson and David third. Pearson took the lead in lap 3 and cruised to victory, while Barichello kept P2 up to lap 12, when he was passed by David.
Kucharczyk took fourth ahead of Famularo, while Everett Stack won the entertaining final duel with Michael Shin.
